American AAdvantage Shopping Bonus Promotion
Cartera and the various airlines have really stepped it up this year with bonus promotions. Following Alaska and United promotions earlier this month, we now have a brand new deal from AAdvantage Shopping. Let’s take a look!
The Offer
- Earn 500 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $200.
Key Terms
- “April Bonus” bonus offer runs from 4/20/17 through 4/30/17 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”).
- Member will earn a one-time bonus of 500 AAdvantage® miles on qualifying purchases, in addition to the standard AAdvantage® miles earned from shopping online through the AAdvantage eShoppingSM mall.
- “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles.

Analysis
They ran this exact same promo earlier this year and I’m glad to see it return, although I’d prefer a higher bonus. This essentially works out to an extra 2.5X miles per dollar on the $200 in spend. Since the bonus is in addition to the normal earnings, you can do quite well. I still recommend comparing portal rates at a site like Cash Back Monitor to make sure you are getting the best return and don’t forget to maximize your family’s accounts as well!
