BJ’s Amex Offer
This has been a good week for people who like to save money. Between the Sam’s Club, Best Buy and Newegg deals, the holiday season is off to a great start. Now, Amex has released yet another lucrative targeted offer for BJ’s Wholesale Club.
The Offer
Get a one-time $25 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to make a single purchase of $100 or more in-Club at BJ’s Wholesale Club by 12/31/2016.

- Excludes BJ’s home improvement, auto and home insurance, installed sheds, BJ’s gas stations, BJ’s Travel, auto buying, check printing, stationery, business solutions, cable/satellite/wireless providers, restaurants inside of stores, orders placed on a computer inside of a BJ’s store and BJ’s charitable foundation.
How to Load
This offer is targeted, although some people have it on many cards. Generally with BJ’s offers you won’t be targeted if don’t live in an area with a BJ’s store. The offer can only be loaded to targeted cards on the American Express website.

Maximizing
BJ’s sells a wide variety of gift cards in-club. Many of these gift cards are already discounted, which means that you can do quite well with this offer. If you end up spending in chunks of $100, then you are getting a 25% discount on top of the discount BJ’s offers normally. This isn’t quite as scalable as the Sam’s Club offer, but it is very nice.
Conclusion
I like that American Express is staggering the release of these offers since it gives us a chance to digest them. For many this offer will add hundreds of dollars in value to their relationship with American Express. While I am shut out of this geographically, I’ll wait for the next big deal to come along!

0 for 9 cards in between husband and me. And we shop at BJs, except not with Amex cards.
Also, I know there have been cruise offers recently but we never see them because when we do cruise we don’t pay with Amex. My friends who use their Amex Platinum to pay get the cruise offers on all their cards.
There’s currently a Groupon for BJ’s membership for $40 but it includes a $25 BJ’s gift card, so out-of-pocket is effectively only $15.
The BJ’s homepage (and some AMEX cards) also have a free 3 month membership offer which would give plenty of time to redeem the offer on your cards if you don’t need a year’s membership
