Ninja Tricks Dell

Yesterday Danny covered a pretty amazing Amex Offer that popped up for Dell. I have heard that it reached its capacity, but I was able to add the offer on just about all of my personal Amex cards.

As a reminder here is the deal:

Get a one-time $75 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $300+ in one or more transactions online at dell.com by 3/25/2017.

During a similar deal in 2015 I was able to save 50% off the lowest ever price for a tv and during this past holiday season I showed you how to get a 65″ tv for just $200. Let’s just say I love these Amex Offers!

Get a $350 Xbox One for $87!

While televisions are fun, so are games. Today I’ll show you how to utilize ninja tricks to get a $350 Xbox One for $87. To start, 1 TB Xbox Ones are $50 off their normal $349.99 price right now. That means the price at Dell is $299.99.

But wait there’s more! If you click through to the product, it is coming with quite the nice bonus.

If you buy this console you will also get a $100 Dell Promo eGift card. Keep in mind this card can’t be sold via the normal channels since it expires, but you can sell them on eBay or use them for more merchandise down the line. I am assigning full value to the card here, but feel free to assign whatever value you consider proper while doing your math.

So now, the math looks like this:

  • Cost: $299.99
  • Promo Gift Card: $-100

That looks really good, but it actually gets a lot better. By employing the ninjas you can also get:

  • 3% back in Dell rewards
  • 10% cashback via Ebates
  • $75 back via the Amex Offer

The Final Math

Once we add up our savings, the math looks something like this:

  • Cost: $299.99
  • Promo Gift Card: $-100
  • 10% Cashback: -$29.99
  • 3% Rewards (They round down): -$8
  • Amex Offer: $-75
  • Final Cost: $87!

Some Considerations

Now that the math is over, there are definitely a few more things to consider.

  • You will have $108 in Dell credit that you need to figure out how to use. Like I said before, assign the value of that credit as you see fit.
  • You will also pay sales tax on the full purchase price ($299.99). I don’t calculate that here since some people don’t have sales tax and for others the amount varies.
  • You will be $.01 short of triggering the Amex Offer. You can buy a cheap filler or spend that $.01 at a later time.

Conclusion

Even if you discount the Dell credit value and add in tax, you are still saving 60%+ off the full retail price of this console. If you don’t have tax and can use the credit for something else, then you are saving a full 75% which is amazing! Happy shopping!

  1. I wonder where you got this idea, Shawn. GCW perhaps? SD perhaps? Please, either HT or come up with more original content. You supposedly left FM to put more time into your own blog, after all.

    • Glad that you asked Ted. I actually saw the $100 ePromo deal while browsing Dell a few days ago on my own and then put this all together on my own when the Amex Offer dropped. No hat tip required. Thanks for reading.

    • Have you ever posted on SD and been merged with someone who got to the deal first? I have SEVERAL times. IMO no HT required.

I don’t know Shawn or anything about him. In fact Ive left him very critical feedback, but what I’ve gathered if there was a HT due he would mention it. There’s more to lose pissing people off in this circle than there is to gain leaving a tiny HT at the end of a post

  2. Could one buy three xboxes, each on a different card, combines the three $100 egift cards and buy a fourth xbox and sell all four?

  3. Is it possible to apply the Dell $100 giftcard to the financing offer? I don’t really have use for the $100 giftcard and it seems like it would be difficult to resell because of the 90-day limitation.
