Directv Now Apple TV Deal Update

Directv Now Apple TV Deal Update

Directv Now, AT&T’s streaming television platform, launched about a year ago and has slowly been growing. Despite having over a million subscribers, one thing that has hampered this service is the lack of cloud DVR along with a limited number of compatible devices. Thankfully that is changing with more devices being added and the supposed launch of cloud DVR this Spring.

A few weeks ago we covered an awesome deal they are currently offering. If you pre-pay 3 months of their service for $105, they’ll give you a new 4K Apple TV. Since this device sells for $179 direct from Apple, at $105 you are getting quite the discount, plus 3 months of service!

While that is a good deal by itself, we aim to do better. In our post we showed you how to use ninja tricks to get the price down to $48 with a combination of portal cashback and a targeted Bank of America offer. Now, I have a couple of updates and some good news that the deal still rages on!

Portal Cashback Update  – BeFrugal to Top Cashback

At the time we wrote up the original deal, BeFrugal was offering $22 cashback for new Directv Now members. This cashback stacked with the Apple TV deal. Unfortunately they have removed the Apple TV deal from their site, but thankfully Top Cashback is also offering $22 and has a link to the Apple TV deal.

On a side note, I ordered through BeFrugal when this deal was originally published and the cashback is already confirmed in my account! I expect everything to work just as well with Top Cashback.

Bank of America Offer Update

In addition to portal cashback, some people were also targeted for a $35 Bank of America cashback deal. Unfortunately I wasn’t targeted at the time, but I am now! Yesterday when I logged into my account to check for new offers I noticed that beautiful Directv Now deal staring back at me.

Everyone who previously wasn’t targeted might want to check their Bank of America account(s) again to see if they now have the offer. Given that the cost is $48 out of pocket when combining portal cashback and the BofA offer, this is a great deal and one worth giving a second look if you skipped it before.

Conclusion

Please see our original post for more details on how the deal works and see this post to learn how you could make $80-$100 by selling this device if you don’t want to keep it. I’m definitely happy that I received the Bank of America offer and I have already ordered up a second device to take advantage of the deal.
