Also go through a shopping portal to get an additional 2% back, such as the Chase UR Portal.

Conclusion

This is a good opportunity to get discounted gift cards for personal use and could even turn in a small profit, but there’s a limit of 2 per account. Sometimes these deals go out of stock quickly, so if you’re interested is better to buy sooner than later.

  1. You didn’t mention that Amex simple cash plus has a new category “U.S. computer hardware, software, and cloud computing purchases made directly from select providers”. This category if selected at the beginning of the year it gives you 3% on newegg.
