eBay Gift Card Deals
eBay has a number of very good gift card deals today from PayPal Digital gifts and other sellers. Plus, they are targeting some people with a 10% eBay Bucks offer for other items. Let’s take a look.
PayPal Digital Gifts & 5X
PayPal Digital Gifts has a number of gift cards on sale today. Purchasing these cards should generate 5X Ultimate Rewards points if you pay with a Chase Ink Plus/Cash card through PayPal.

Not As Good As Before
In the past, you would be able to also earn portal cashback and eBay Bucks while purchasing gift cards. Unfortunately those avenues have dried up. Most portals no longer pay out in the gift cards category and eBay Bucks are no longer earned when purchasing them.

Selling the Cards
Southwest, Overstock and Gamestop might be brands worth selling depending on your bulk relationships. I know there have been a few sales on Southwest card which has lowered buy rates, so make sure you look at that before purchasing. Also, while Airbnb doesn’t seem to have a resale market yet, 10% off those cards for personal use may be a good buy.
10% in eBay Bucks
While you no longer earn eBay Bucks on gift card purchases, if you plan to buy other items on eBay today look for a targeted 10% offer. I received it on both of my accounts and the only requirement is a purchase amount of $50 or more.
Conclusion
We have seen a lot of good gift card sales on eBay lately. Perhaps now that they no longer give eBay Bucks, no longer pay through most portals and have generally gutted all that was good, we will see more of these deals. I particularly like the PayPal Digital Gifts deals because who can argue with 5X?

what credit cards can I use that will generate 5x?
Do E-Bay GCs code as 5x on Ink? I thought I read a few months ago that they were changing this?
Yes as of a week ago purchases from PayPal Digital Gifts code as 5X. Only from that seller.
Have you had any issues with a new PPDG/Paypal issue where instead of the verification loop it simply says “payment method not available” after you enter your ID/password? I’ve received frequently now and had to call in to get the “risk” removed, but I can’t find a way to get the “risk” waiver to last more than one transaction.
joe: I just for the first time experienced a problem logging into paypay (when checking out of ebay) to pay for a purchase, and it wouldn’t allow me…yet I could log into my paypal account outside of ebay. After going through ebay CS, then Paypal CS who tried to manually put in some notes to verify my identity and approve transactions, nothing changed. They said they would open a ticket to IT but said nobody would get back to me. A week later, the same problem was happening. Then today (day 9) it is cleared up. They couldn’t explain why the block came up or why I couldn’t even log in to my account to pay for the items. Hopefully, it doesn’t occur again.
