eBay Travel Gift Card Deal
PayPal Digital Gifts on eBay currently has a very very good deal on travel gift cards. You can save quite a bit of money by combining the discount, eBay Bucks, portal rewards and a Chase Ink card. Let’s take a look.
Save an extra 15% off when you purchase $200 or more of selected gift cards.
Which Travel Brands
There are a total of seven different travel brands available. Here are the cards you can buy under this discount:
- American Airlines
- Delta Airlines
- Southwest Airlines
- Carnival Cruise Line
- Princess Cruises
- Royal Caribbean Cruise Line
- Celebrity Cruises
You can find the full list of brands on sale here.
Update: You may only receive eBay Bucks based on the discounted amount despite what is shown above. That would make the cost $3 more and bring the savings amount down to 24.78%.
To make it simple, let’s take a look at a purchase of $200 of American Airlines gift cards.
- Cost: $170
- eBay Bucks Earned: -$20 (If targeted for 5X)
- Shop at Home 1.5% portal cashback: -$2.55
- Final Cost: $147.45
- Percentage Saved: 26.28%
- 5X Ultimate Rewards earned with Chase Ink: 850
While there doesn’t seem to be a huge resale market for cruise gift cards, the American and Southwest cards can be sold for 81% of face value which would mean a profit for some. My main purpose to buy these would be for personal use, but there is a bit of an opportunity to profit here. You can find the resale values of different cards at Gift Card Wiki.
This is a great deal if you are looking to spend money on any of the included travel brands. I love to take cruises, so a potential savings of 26.28% on brands like Royal Caribbean is very appealing. That same discount on Southwest, Delta and American will also be exciting for some. Even if you weren’t targeted for 5X eBay Bucks the math may still work for you.
