Gift Cards Available at Home Depot
About a week ago American Express released a new round of Amex Offers including $15 off $75 at Home Depot. This offer is really good because Home Depot sells a variety of merchant gift cards. This means you can achieve a 20% discount at the places you frequent most. (I have tested it and confirmed it works.)
Home Depot also sells Visa and Mastercard gift cards in denominations of $25 and $50 which may be a decent deal if you don’t have a need for merchant cards, although their fees can eat up the profit quite a bit. Either way, if you were able to register your Amex cards (registration is closed now), you should definitely take advantage.
This morning I was in Home Depot actually purchasing flooring for a minor remodel (I get 20% off that too) and decided to take photos of the gift card racks so you can see what is available. For me, I think the best deal is on gas cards. For example, Shell & Arco cards both resell for about 90% of face value, but purchasing them also could mean 20% off fuel.
In addition to fuel, they have the typical selection of cards for: prepaid phone service, restaurants, movie theaters and other merchants like Gamestop and Barnes & Noble. In other words, something for everyone. In my case, I purchased $75 Home Depot gift cards and then used those to pay for my flooring. A great deal no matter how you slice it. Giftcards.com will often buy them, but it depends on the merchant. Cardpool will as well, but they generally offer lower rates. For some merchants you always have to mail in the cards.
I bought 3x $25 Chipotle GC’s at my Home Depot (to actually spend, not resell), which I didn’t spot in your pictures? Maybe they’re there and I just missed it.
I also got 3x $100 Visa gc’s with $5.95 fees, split on 4 Amex’s.
Maybe it is just my Home Depot, but at my local HD I have never seen anything other than Home Depot gift cards on the (small) rack. This is in contrast to the Lowes in town, which has the big rack similar to what is shown in your photos.
The $10 represents about a 13% discount off $75. What makes up the rest of the 20%?

They do split tender, so I got 3 * $100 VGC for $257.85 (14% off face value). Did this a couple times then fed them to the birds.
Personally still think gas gift cards are easier to liquidate than a visa gift card. Can ask be fine from the comfort of your home.

I’ll be looking for shell gcs. They’re at 92% right now with saveya. In theory it’s a 2% loss to liquidate compared to vgc but well worth it.
Underwear MS is where it’s at whenever possible. Having bulk seller status to increase your selling limits and having ACH payout also helps.
