Hyatt Gold Passport Changes:

I am currently planning our family trip to Tokyo in April and was reminded that Hyatt’s new award chart goes into effect on January 7.  One of the hotels we plan to stay in is the Park Hyatt Tokyo.  This Park Hyatt is considered by many to be the finest in the chain and currently costs 22,000 points per night.  We have already booked our two free nights in a suite that we received from the Chase Hyatt, but we are also planning to supplement that stay with points.

Unfortunately, the Park Hyatt Tokyo along with five of Hyatt’s other ultra high-end properties are moving up to a brand new category 7 which will cost 30,000 points per night.  Many other hotels are moving categories as well and redemptions in both categories 5 & 6 are going to cost more.

Hack My Trip has a great rundown on all of the changes coming to the Hyatt award chart starting on January 7.  Head over there to see how this effects your plans and make sure to book your stays before the changes take effect!

La Quinta Returns Stay & Play:

La Quinta launched their Stay & Play game a few weeks ago.  It allows you to earn free nights or points in their Returns loyalty program.  You can earn points by playing daily and get bonuses for sharing on either Twitter or Facebook.

This is just a friendly reminder that the game is still going strong and will continue until January 31.  I posted more information about both the game and their loyalty program a couple of weeks ago and if you want to sign up just click here. (You don’t have be a member already. The site will allow you to sign up for their program when you play the game.)

Have a great Saturday and please let me know if you have any questions or comments!
