Huge Giveaway to Say Thank You

Miles to Memories has been growing at a tremendous pace. In an effort to thank all of my readers (both old & new), I am going to be holding a giveaway this weekend. In total, I will be giving away at least 10 prizes.

What You Might Have Missed

While I am not going to rehash all of the great content from the past (you can always poke around), I know many of my readers are new here, so here are a few unique posts you might have missed from just the past two weeks:

As I mentioned, those posts are all from the past two weeks! Coming up this week I will have a bunch of new content on miles/points including more credit card reviews, my normal deal coverage, travel articles from Dubai, Colombia & India along with a continuation of my Norwegian Getaway review. Now back to the contest!

The Prizes:

Miles to Memories International Prize Pack!

6 – Gogo Inflight single use internet codes.

2 – $15 Walmart e-gift cards.

1 – $15 Starbucks gift card code.

1 – International prize pack (shown above) including: A handmade spiceboat from Kerala, India and keychains from Kerala, Acapulco & Jerusalem. (Plus a possible surprise or two!)

Possibly More! I am working to add more prizes as we speak!

Ways to Enter

You can earn up to five total entries. Entries can be gained by:

  • 1 Entry – Commenting on this post with a tip for other readers. (Does not have to be travel related.)
  • 2 Entries – Following @milestomemories on Twitter and tweeting a tip to @milestomemories with the hashtag #MtMGiveaway.
  • 2 Entries – *Subscribing to our once daily newsletter. (It can be done on the top right of this page or by clicking here. If you haven’t been receiving the newsletter, don’t forget to check your Spam or Promotions folder!)

*For this contest only, everyone who is subscribed to the newsletter by 11:59pm on 10/20/2014 will earn 2 entries. If you have previously subscribed, then you are already entered!

Contest Rules

Each person can earn a maximum of five entries as described above. Winners will be determined by a random draw. Each entry will be assigned a number in chronological order. First all comments will receive a number, then all Twitter entries and finally all newsletter subscriptions. (Each newsletter subscription & Twitter entry will receive two numbers.)

Final eligibility will be determined by me at my sole discretion. Entering multiple times from the same IP address will result in disqualification. Winners will be notified with a post on this blog by October 26, 2014. Each person can only win one prize.

I also reserve the right to add additional prizes during the giveaway. At minimum, I will be giving away the 10 prizes as described above, but I am working to add more. If more prizes are added, the drawing will be done at the same time with the same pool of entries.

The contest will end at 11:59PM on Monday October 20, 2014. Any entry time stamped at midnight on 10/21/2014 or after will not count.

  1. Use autoslash to save time and money when shopping for rental cars – they do the shopping for you continuously and are amazingly customer friendly and responsive to questions

  2. Empty yours pockets directly into a light jacket or sweatshirt before walking through security, and then place it in the bin. Makes it much easier to then get those belongings back into your pockets!

  3. The Charles Schwab checking account doesn’t charge any foreign transaction fees and reimburses ATM fees. It is the best way to get cash abroad…and really comes in handy when you change countries in Europe and change currencies (like on a cruise).

  4. Always continue to check rates after booking a room. Best Rate Guarantees can save significant money or earn additional points.

  5. Check the rental car website 2-3 days before your reservation, you can usually find a cheaper rate on a larger car if they are short on smaller cars! Used this last weekend save 90

  6. Enter every travel contest you can! You would be surprised at what you can win. Won a free night with the latest SPG promo. You just never know!

  7. Bring more than one ATM card when you travel so that you can use different networks if necessary, if one card gets lost, demagnetized, etc.–or if the ATM “eats” your card. Yes, it really happened!

  8. If you forget or misplace a charger while traveling, ask the hotel desk to check their lost and found; you may find something there that you can borrow and they may even give it to you. Ditto for airport lounges.

  9. When traveling with small children, pack entire outfits–underwear and all–in gallon Ziplock bags. Each day, your child can select their own outfit (bag). This trick allowed me to let my husband get our daughters dressed (and they didn’t look like he had dressed them) and gave me a little time to ready myself in the morning. Plus it keeps the kids happy by empowering them (and ensures that their clothes will match even on the last day of your trip)!

  10. I advise you to read milestomemories post about how to switch to Serve with softcard, it gives you advantage of being able to load more amount directly from credit card to your Serve account to pay bills!

  11. Put address labels on your power cords. Makes it easier for the hotel to identify it as yours and return/mail it to you.

  12. Bring clothes you want to get rid of on the trip and dispose of after wearing to make room in the suitcase for souvenirs

  13. Use the visa concierge! They found me a great Pilates class that fit into a busy work trip in a city I didn’t know. They also sent me a 3 page list of tween friendly events for another trip when I brought along my niece.

  14. You can buy things with kohl’s cash first, and return them in store. Some nice stores will return you the value into a store gift card to use later.

  15. if they won’t accept your day pass at an airport lounge, just ask people to guest you….worked for me in tokyo

  16. Make sure to call CC customer service when the annual fee is due. Even if you don’t really want to cancel the card, you can usually get an awesome retention offer. This is great especially if you were going to pay the AF and keep the card regardless.

  17. Treat the front desk agent how you would like to be treated and you’ll be surprised how quickly an upgrade is forthcoming
