Today I am official relaunching Family ‘Round The World. After a few years of not having the time to write, I have decided to begin sharing my experiences and knowledge with those people looking to travel independently as a family. While I am not currently on a “round the world trip”, my family and I still travel quite a lot and have a lot to share with you.
One of the main reasons for my not working on this site recently was a data loss. Over a year ago, my old website host inadvertently lost all of the site’s data and I was left with nothing. I thought at the time that I had full backups, but that wasn’t the case. It took me quite a while, but through various partial backups I was able to restore about 90% of the site’s content.
The good thing that came with this restoration was the ability for me to share many more pictures than before. Most of the posts now have large galleries of photos from the travel days I wrote about. If you have been a reader of this site for a while, I encourage you to look back at some of our adventures and if you are new to the site, there is a lot of information to be found in our archives. This relaunch also means a new site design. Included in this update are: expanded photo galleries, a new logo and a better overall aesthetic designed to help you find the information you are looking for.
Finally I want to mention that this relaunch means a lot of new content. Starting today, I will be publishing new articles relating to family world travel. I plan to review destinations, offer tips on travel and share our experiences like what was done in the past with our travelogue. Hopefully this information will be of benefit to everyone.
