Equifax hack may be worse than we thought – CNN Money

2017 may have been the year of the hack.  From Equifax to Uber to Tio it was a rough year for our personal data.  It sounds like Equifax didn’t report all of the information that was acquired during the hack.

Read this if you have a T-Mobile plan – Miles per Day

I don’t have T-Mobile but I know a lot of people in the hobby do because of their international plans.  This is a great piece of advice and it is pretty scary that people are able to port out your number to another carrier.  Then use that number to hack your bank account etc.

Southwest Passengers Redeem a ton of Awards – View From the Wing

A few interesting points came out of Southwest’s SEC 10-K filing.  The usage of Rapid Rewards points is up year over year but their credit card revenue is flat.  I guess that means there are a lot of Ultimate Rewards transfers going on :).

  1. In most cases, it makes more sense to sign up for a chase ink card (and transfer the 80,000 bonus points to Southwest) than to sign up for the Southwest card.

  2. Data hacks really need to start being persued with the same tenacity lawyers have for oil spills, etc… It’s always the tip of the iceberg with these issues and it’s especially scary when the companies ‘safeguarding’ large chunks of our real and digital info can’t even comprehend the can of worms they’ve opened their customers to. Sad.

    • #Truth Michael. There should be hefty penalties for it. Especially when they try to cover it up like Uber and Equifax did.
