Virgin Elevate Free Points Offer

Virgin Elevate Free Points Offer

Virgin has been trying to promote their various brands and newsletters by giving away Elevate points by signing up. They held two “500 free point” promos in September and they have now returned with yet way to score free points. Let’s take a look.

The Offer

You’re one step closer to becoming an “A-lister” with special offers and experiences from the Virgin Produced Newsletter. Sign up now to snag your 500 bonus Elevate points.

Key Terms

  • Offer valid until October 26, 2016.
  • Only one email address is allowed and only one set of 500 points will be awarded per Elevate account number.
  • Bonus reward points earned in this offer do not qualify towards Elevate Gold or Elevate Silver status.
  • Please allow 10 days for your points to post from the promotion end date.

You can register to receive the emails and read the full terms on this promotion page.

Analysis

This should be a quick and easy way to pickup 500 Virgin Elevate points. Since Virgin Elevate is a revenue based program and these points are worth north of 2 cents each, this bonus is worth more than $10 in my book. If you don’t want to receive the emails in your main box, have a backup address handy for such promotions. I know my whole family is now signed up!

Points Value in the Real World

Just to show you how valuable these points can be, here is what you can get on a one-way flight from Las Vegas to Los Angeles.

virgin

As you can see, if you had simply done the two promos in September plus this promo, you would have enough points for the one-way. More importantly, the cash fare is $42.10 for the 1,368 point ticket. Subtract out the $5.60 fee and you are redeeming 1,368 points for $36.50. A value of 2.66 cents per point overall.

Conclusion

These promotions are a simple and easy way to score some free points and as I have shown, they can add up to free flights over time even if you don’t have any other points in the program. So why not create a backup mailbox, sign-up for these emails and enjoy the freebies!
