3X Fuel Points on Visa Gift Cards at Stop&Shop/Giant/Martin’s
Stop & Shop, Giant and Martin’s supermarkets have a new gift cards deal next week that can get you decent fuel savings. Let’s take a look.
Earn 3x Gas Rewards Points when you purchase any Visa Gift Cards with your Stop & Shop, Giant or Martin’s card.
- Offer valid 3/15/19 to 3/21/19
- Must use your Stop&Shop/Giant/Martin’s card
Gift card purchases don’t normally earn fuel points, but through this promotion, you get 3x. Most locations now accept credit cards so make sure you maximize your rewards. Amex Blue Cash Preferred will give you 6% at grocery stores and you can also get 5% with Amex Old Blue Cash.
You should purchase $500 Visa gift cards to maximize you card rewards and fuel points.
These gas rewards used to be better, but these deals could still get you cheap gas. Every 100 points are worth $0.10 off per gallon on your fill up of up to 20 gallons. If you buy a $500 Visa gift card and you will receive 1,500 points. That would be $1.50 off per gallon. Multiply that by how many gallons you can pump in one fill up, to calculate your profits. The limit is 20 gallons in most states I believe.
If you buy more than one gift card, you’ll obviously get more points but you can only redeem up to 1500 points per transaction in some areas, which is $1.50 off per gallon. Gas Rewards points are valid for 30 days from the day they are earned. Points can be reedemed at Stop & Shop gas stations and at participating Shell locations.
This is a good deal for people who drive a lot since it get’s you very cheap or close to free gas and a small profit through credit card rewards. We have seen 4X promotions in the past, but this is still pretty good since the points are basically free.
Figure out how many points you need, and purchase accordingly. Points expire in 30 days, so don’t overspend if you can’t use them up.
