  1. We last flew AA on a 1-way award ticket a few months ago. First time we’ve flown them on an award since 2009. I can’t even remember the last time we paid for a ticket on AA. Maybe NY to Miami in 2010? My husband got this offer. Funny stuff.

    • Nice Marilyn! We rarely ever pay for a plane ticket. I can’t spend the miles/points we already have and we continue to accumulate lots of low hanging AA points. We will definitely take a few extra (award) trips that we otherwise wouldn’t have by 5/15. Thanks for the platinum status AA!

  2. My wife got the offer last night. We take a lot of last-minute trips, so saving the 21 day fee ($75) is really nice. We typically book first class domestic flights because we have quite a few points, but we will now book econ and pick the main cabin extra seats. It looks like we will be using her points from now until 5/15. She received the same offer 3 years ago. I think it is interesting that we registered it then but didn’t book any paid flights during the promo period. It doesn’t seem like they would target her again, but we are thankful they did!
