amazon amex points promoSave 20% on Amazon with Amex Points

Amazon’s popular 20% off with 1 Membership Reward point offer has returned.  And people that got this offer just a few months ago are being targeted again!  It appears this time around it is only working for merchandise though.  I was unable to get a gift card to work on its own or with other merchandise.

UPDATE: It appears that people who were not targeted before are now targeted.  It could be because of Amex’s coronavirus promises.  – HT DoC

Targeted Amex / Amazon Offer

Details: 20% off with American Express Membership Rewards. Maximum discount of $50.

  1. Thanks for the information, and the link. Ordered some much needed coffee supplies

    🙂

  2. Thanks for the tip on gift cards! My husband is itching to do some work around the house so I picked up Lowe’s gift cards.

  3. Have always been able to use these promos with e-gift cards. No luck this time. But did get $100 off Apple iPad. Already on sale $50 off for $279 (from $329), and then another $50 with this promo. So $229.

  4. Thank you. Is there some way to use this discount on new subscribe and save items when you already have 5 items on the upcoming months delivery so already should qualify for 15% subscribe and save discount?

    • Not sure if they stack or not. I would check out as 1 time use and then change over to monthly subscription on the final screen and see if it triggers it that way. I assume that would work.

      • Wanted to report back on my experience with your subscription. In brief, the stacking did not work for the full 15% but only a 5% subscribe and save discount. So I am already over 5 items for this month’s delivery. When I set up to check out as a 1 time use and then switched over to a monthly subscription, Amazon only provided a 5% subscribe and save discount rather than 15% I would normally be getting this month. So if one has enough eligible purchases to be able to use up one’s full $50 discount for using one AX point per transaction on non-subscribe and save items, that would be a better use of the discount as one would not be losing 10% subscribe and save (15%-5%) one would otherwise get.

        • Thanks Pat for coming back and sharing. Yeah if you have to skip the 15% back then best to use it for something else!

  5. Yes. I was able to get offer 1 and use it on my AMZ account through the MTM link above. Did not receive any notification from Amazon (or Amex) about the offer, so big thanks to MTM for the heads up.
