The lounge will be opening in Tom Bradley International Terminal in early 2019. It will be accessible to travelers and up to two guests with day-of boarding passes. It will be accessible to terminals 4-8. Even with all the other lounges, I’m still psyched because this will be one of the larger Centurion lounges at over 13,000 sq feet. The LAX location will also feature a spa, private sound buffering work stations and a new tranquility area designed to help travelers adjust, in addition to the usual lounge offerings. For complete details, here’s the official announcement.

Amex Platinum Cardholders are entitled to bring in up to 2 guests for free. Check out this post for more info and background on the guest policy. Additional guest passes can be purchased for $50. Only time will tell if there are any additional restrictions like the ones like the ones we recently reported on.

Conclusion

As a regular transcon flyer, this news is extremely exciting. LAX is the second busiest airport in the US, so I’m sure this is welcome news for many travelers. As always, I am a very happy Amex Platinum customer. As a frequent traveler to many Centurion cities, I have never questioned whether the card is worth the annual fee.
