First All-Inclusive Resort In The Florida Keys Goes Up In Flames – YMMV
Well that didn’t last too long.  We covered the launch of this resort just a few months ago.  It looked beautiful but pricey.  It is sad to see it go up in smoke so soon…hopefully they are able to rebuild it. Luckily no one was hurt during the fire.

  1. Hi Mark – Many thanks for the link. I know this has been a hot-button issue for you, and rightfully so. There are far too many restrictions and pitfalls with Airbnb GCs. I recently went through another round of using Airbnb GCs after I wrote the article. Everything eventually turned out ok (and we saved some good money and earned extra points/miles), but not without some glitches and a fair amount of anxiety. And that’s with me being an experienced and knowledgeable user. Lord help the newbies. Hopefully the article helps our readers make informed choices – and if they decide to go the GC route, to navigate the challenges. ~Craig

    • I am honestly shocked there hasn’t been a lawsuit of some sort on it yet. I can’t think of any other company that has the kind of unfriendly terms their gift cards have. Their rules just don’t make sense. But if you use them for the full booking like most will they shouldn’t be an issue and they are on sale often which leads to nice savings.

  2. I would replace Waco with Big Bend National Park (the most remote of all the parks)/Ft Davis/Marfa/Alpine area as the best budget-friendly stop in the Lone Star State.
