I never stay on property since I am too cheap to.  Plus I am not a huge Disney fan which you know if you listened to Episode 1 of our new podcast.  But from what I have read buying DVC points to book on property stays can be a way to save some money.  Nancy gives you a good breakdown of how and why to do it.

I am somewhat ashamed to say I have stayed at the Hooters hotel in Vegas.  I stayed there a few times when I was younger and when it first opened it wasn’t terrible.  It did go downhill pretty quickly though.  It will be interesting to see what OYO brings to the table because the location is actually pretty decent, right across the street from MGM.

Come On IHG, It’s Like You’re Not Even Trying With Accelerate Offers Anymore – YMMV

I haven’t had a decent IHG offer in 4-5 years.  It is getting to the point that I don’t even want to check anymore.  First they destroyed PointsBreaks (although the latest list was decent) and then Accelerate Promos.  I called them GARBAGE in Episode 3 of our podcast and I meant it.

  2. And, I will not be renewing my Ambassador status either. Actually, I’m thinking about transferring my 1,000,000 IHG points for 200,000 Krisflyer points for a couple premium flights on Singapore.

    • I can see why you would be frustrated with the program. I will say you will most likely get better value using them on hotels but sometimes you are just over something and getting okay value is worth less of the hassle.
