I have had a similar experience with Hilton Gold vs Diamond.  It doesn’t seem to be a huge difference although I do love those Diamond parking spots at Hampton Inns lol.  I am coming up on a similar decision on my Aspire card in a few months as well.  As you know I love the card but I am not sure if I will use the resort credit next year which is make or break on the card’s value in my opinion.  I may downgrade to the Ascend, which I also love, and await a compelling Aspire upgrade offer.  Time will tell.

This seems to be happening much too often.  It is very similar to all the hacks that happen and no one seems to think too much of it.
