Authorized User Bonus Offer For CitiBusiness Aadvantage Select Card

Authorized User Bonus Offer For CitiBusiness AAdvantage Select Card

My wife received an authorized user bonus offer for her CitiBusiness AAdvantage select card. This card has one of the better welcome offers out there for business cards, at 70,000 miles. That is a big reason why it made it on our 5/24 ice list. It is also the only card I know of that earns a bonus on PayPal Digital Gifts purchases.

So there is a lot to like about the card and I was excited to see another offer for the card, until I opened it at least.  Let’s just say the authorized user offer fell a little flat.

Authorized User Bonus Offer For CitiBusiness Aadvantage Select Card

Details

The authorized user offer is as follows:

  • Add an authorized user to your card by 12/31/19
  • They must complete $1500 in spend by 12/31/19
  • You earn 2,500 bonus miles

Nothing to write home about.  But Citi is known for lackluster authorized user offers.  They are not link Amex AU offers that is for sure.

This offer came in the snail mail via USPS.

Final Thoughts

I know no one will get too excited about 2,500 bonus miles.  I guess if you look at it as earning 2.66 AA miles on your next $1500 in business spend it isn’t too bad.  It would go up to 3.66 if you made the purchases on PayPal Digital Gifts.  And since the card is a business card the authorized user shouldn’t count towards Chase 5/24 status.

Overall it isn’t a terrible deal but I would have liked to see something like 5K instead.  I am not sure it is worth the effort for so few miles.  I know some people will disagree though.

If you have the CitiBusiness AAdvantage select card be sure to check your mailbox for similar offers.
