Avios Transfer Bonus

35% Transfer Bonus When You Convert Hotel Points to Avios

British Airways Executive Club is offering again a 35% transfer bonus when you convert hotel loyalty points into Avios.

The Offer

Convert your hotel loyalty Points into Avios between 22 September and 31 October 2017 and earn 35% bonus Avios.

Participating hotel partners are:

  • Carlson Hotels
  • Hilton Hotels
  • Hyatt Hotels & Resorts
  • Intercontinental Hotel Group
  • Marriott
  • Shangri-La
  • Starwood

Link to promo page.

Key Terms

  • Convert between now and 31 October 2017
  • Bonus Avios can take 4-6 weeks to show on your account from the date of conversion

Conclusion

Conversion rates are not very favorable for most hotel programs. SPG could be an option as they transfer to Avios at a rate of 1:1 and you get a 5K bonus for every 20K points you transfer. So if you transfer 20K Starpoints, you would get 25K Avios plus 35% bonus through this promo for a total of 33,750 Avios.

  1. I am not seeing mention of SPG on the promo page linked above are you sure SPG is included? It looks like you’d need to do SPG > Marriott > Avios and that likely only makes sense if you are doing one of their travel packages.
