Alaska Airlines 5,000 Referral Bonus

Bank of America Alaska Airlines 5,000 Referral Bonus

Bank of America sent out emails to some Alaska Airlines credit card holders announcing a 5,000 mile referral bonus.  This offer came around last May too but it is back again!

Referral Details

Here are the details of the offer:

  • You’ll receive 5,000 bonus miles for each person you refer that is approved for a new card as a result of your referral within 60 days of the date of the referral email.
  • You must have an open Alaska Airlines credit card account to receive the 5,000 bonus miles.

The person who receives the referral will get the following offer:

  • 30,000 Alaska Airlines miles after spending $1,000 within 90 days
  • A bogo companion fare
  • $75 annual fee

Remember that Bank of America has the 2/3/4 rule now.  I covered ways to increase your approval odds with BOA here.

Better Offer

While the referral offer is the same as the public offer, it is actually possible to do better and get the 30,000 miles plus a $100 statement credit. (Direct Link). In other words, it’s probably better to tell your friends about the $100 credit and forego your 5,000 point bonus.

A decent offer that will allow you to rack up some valuable Alaska miles if you can find people to sign up!

  1. I’m confused about this offer. I was always able to generate a referral by going to Alaska Airlines’ Promotion website and just filling in my information and my friend’s name and email. I received 5k points a few weeks after they signed up. Do you know how this differs from that method?
