Budget Airline Fees

With the success of carriers like Spirit & Allegiant, more and more airlines have decided to go the route of low cost carriers with ridiculous fees, although there are ways to avoid them. Even legacy carriers now charge for checked baggage and priority seating in advance and change fees can cost more than the ticket itself. These fees make billions of dollars each year for the airline industry, which gives little hope that they will be going away any time soon.

Then we have carriers like Ryanair who take pride in creating new fees like one for using the toilet.  Their CEO who has in the past said crazy things like seatbelts don’t matter, also unveiled plans a few years ago for stand-up seats on a plane. Thankfully that idea was rejected by regulators.

I was recently reminded of a hilarious spoof of budget airlines on MAD TV from a few years ago, so I thought I would share it with you. Which fees do you think the budget airlines will come up with next? Let me know in the comments!
