Family 'Round The World

These articles were posted during our very first big international trip when the website was called Family ‘Round The World. (www.familyrtw.com) From 2007-2008 my wife and then six year old son traveled around the world with me and I chronicled the first year of our adventures on the road. These posts cover travel across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central America, Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia. Enjoy!

Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur
On my 26th Birthday we decided to visit the Batu Caves on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. These holy Hindu caves are notorious for their thieving monkeys and we got to see them incredibly close!

The Petronas Towers

The Petronas Towers are iconic. Upon seeing them when pulling into Kuala Lumpur, I couldn't wait to get a closer look. On Sunday, we spent the whole day at or near the towers. We rode up to the skybridge, killed time in the mall and most importantly took our pictures in front of these two icons!

Kuala Lumpur Here We Come!

Kuala Lumpur is a large dirty city. For some people that would probably be a turn off, but for us it means excitement. We were all very excited to get into the city and to see how it contrasted to the Utopian like Singapore!

Onward To Malaysia!

After having only been in Singapore for a few days, we were ready to leave the nation state behind for a little more adventure up north in Malaysia. Our first stop was the ancient port city of Melaka where we would see some European influences and enjoy delicious food!
