Family 'Round The World

These articles were posted during our very first big international trip when the website was called Family ‘Round The World. ( From 2007-2008 my wife and then six year old son traveled around the world with me and I chronicled the first year of our adventures on the road. Trishaw Tours & Indian Food!

We spent most of our first two days in Georgetown, Penang exploring the city. The highlights of our time there were the fantastic food and our trishaw tour of the city!

Trading One Highland For Another!

Leaving the Genting Highlands behind, we traveled further north to the Cameron Highlands. This area is home to some of the most lush and beautiful scenery we have ever seen!

Malaysia’s City of Entertainment!

Leaving Kuala Lumpur, we headed up into the mountains to the Genting Highlands Resort. This resort is home to casinos, hotels, golf courses and two theme parks. It also houses the largest hotel in the world and we stayed there!

Going On A Supersonic Odyssey!

On our last full day in Kuala Lumpur, we suffered through the Malaysian capital's public transportation system on our way to a couple of different theme parks. In the end it was a great day filled with roller coasters and water slides!

Celebrating My Birthday With Monkeys At The Batu Caves

On my 26th Birthday we decided to visit the Batu Caves on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. These holy Hindu caves are notorious for their thieving monkeys and we got to see them incredibly close!

The Petronas Towers

The Petronas Towers are iconic. Upon seeing them when pulling into Kuala Lumpur, I couldn't wait to get a closer look. On Sunday, we spent the whole day at or near the towers. We rode up to the skybridge, killed time in the mall and most importantly took our pictures in front of these two icons!

Kuala Lumpur Here We Come!

Kuala Lumpur is a large dirty city. For some people that would probably be a turn off, but for us it means excitement. We were all very excited to get into the city and to see how it contrasted to the Utopian like Singapore!

Onward To Malaysia!

After having only been in Singapore for a few days, we were ready to leave the nation state behind for a little more adventure up north in Malaysia. Our first stop was the ancient port city of Melaka where we would see some European influences and enjoy delicious food!
