Chase Offers Cashback Program Launching

Chase has long been the champion of rewards card offerings, but for the longest time American Express dominated the “spending offers” category with Amex Offers. That has changed of course with Amex Offers implementing severe limitations. While other banks like Bank of America & Citi also have their own programs, neither is very lucrative. Now, it seems that Chase is going to try to fully jump into this space with the launch of a Chase Offers cashback program.

Last year Chase dabbled with spending offers on their Marriott and Slate cards before pulling back the program and briefly relaunching it on their Hyatt cards. Now, it seems they are ready to roll Chase Offers out to all cards on November 11, 2018.

Here is the info sent out to bankers: (HT: Doctor of Credit)

Chase Offers Cashback – Need to Know

While we will no doubt learn more about this program when it fully launches, based on the leaked information we know:

  • The offers will be based on your spending patterns
  • You will find Chase Offers in the Chase and ChasePay apps and in email communications
  • Just like with other cashback offers programs, you will need to click to activate the offer on your account
  • You should receive a statement credit within a week or two after completing an offer
  • Offers will begin appearing between November 11 – November 19, 2018

Bottom Line

Any time a bank can add more value to a product you already carry then it is a win as a consumer. While I doubt these offers will be home runs, they most likely will provide opportunities for modest savings and it will be interesting to see how they implement their targeting. Time will tell how successful and valuable the new Chase Offers cashback program is.
