Citi ThankYou Spending Offer 5X
Citi has long been one of the more active banks when it comes to sending out targeted spending offers. This week they are sending out another round of these offers to cardholders including the ability to earn 5X points in very attractive categories. Let’s take a look.

Starting with your next purchase, you’ll earn 5 ThankYou® Points per $1 spent, up to 2,500 points, now through 05/31/2021 on eligible purchases you make with your Citi ThankYou® Preferred Card at:

Are You Targeted?
These offers came to us via snail mail, however Citi often sends out offers via email as well. The email subject for this targeted ThankYou spending offer was, “Use Your Citi Card to Earn Bonus ThankYou(R) Points on Eligible Purchases: It’s So Simple to Activate!”
The email had a one-click link to activate the offer as well. So easy!
Also be sure to check your mailboxes since they have been sending them out via USPS this week too.
Conclusion
It’s always nice when a bank rewards you for using a card you already have. While the cap on this offer is small, it’s easy to hit, the categories are generous on the Prestige offer at least, and ThankYou points are a great currency.

My wife got it for Rewards+ and it came via email.
I got 5x on my AT&T Universal Card on eligible purchases. Seems to be for everything except AT&T products (which have their own bonus)
Got it on my Prestige card. 2500 points are $25 in the worst of cases

I have a Sears Citi card. Current offer is 25x on utilities, cap 9000 TYP and also 10x on gas, grocery and restaurants Purchases over $800 per month with cap 20k TYP per month.
I have 5x AA miles per $1 spent, up to 2,500 points, through 05/31/2020 at Computer & Electronics Stores on my CitiBusiness AAdvantage card. I assume that Best Buy is found in this category, but not Staples or Office Max since they would be likely coded as office supply stores. What other stores would also be included?
last round I had 5X on office supply and it never posted on my Premier card
I got a 5x offer for ANY spend, up to 2500 points, on my AAdvantage Gold card.
Yeah, I signed with my Prestige and will max out the 2,500 points. The Prestige still sucks with the recent devaluations and loss of every single meaningful travel protection, and I will cancel in January one I receive my final 4th night free credit and annual $250 travel credit, and receive a prorata refund of my annual fee. I already upgraded my Freedom card back to a Sapphire Reserve for all future travel expenses
