There is a Delta Skymiles sale going on right now that is pretty dang tempting. You can snag a flight to London for a mere 16,000 miles round trip. At that price it makes sense to throw a positioning flight into the mix to make it happen.

Final Thoughts
Getting a flight to London and back for 16K is about as good as it gets really, especially from the West Coast. I can’t remember anything cheaper to Europe. Even Salt Lake City to Tokyo for 40K is a pretty solid offer. Let me know if you book anything.

It wasn’t listed, but I was able to book a one-way from LAX to Tokyo for 16,000 miles and $5.60 in fees for early June. Most days in April and May are the same 16,000 miles. I’m traveling onward in Asia and I actually only had just over 16k miles in my account so I didn’t check so I didn’t check the cost of a round trip. My guess is they would be 34,000 miles.
