Discover Savings Bonuses, Get up to $600 with $20K Deposit

Discover Bank has three separate savings bonuses available, each for $150 or $200. This is the same bonus, that comes in three different forms. What’s interesting, is that you can get all three separately, for a total of up to $600.

The Offers

First, here’s the three bonuses, each one with a different promo code:

To get your Bonus: Apply for your first Discover Savings Account by 10/31/2017.

  • Deposit a total of $15,000 into your account by 11/15/2017 to earn a $150 Bonus OR
  • Deposit a total of $20,000 into your account by 11/15/2017 to earn a $200 Bonus

Stacking Bonuses

What is interesting about these offers is that you can take advantage of all three offers, even though they are basically the same promotion under different organizations.

All you need is $15K or $20K to deposit into the accounts. There’s no minimum time requirements for keeping the money in the account, so after depositing, you can then transfer that same money to the next account for the next bonus. So with the same $20K and a few ACHs, you can get as much as $600.

Conclusion

This is a great bonus that expires at the end of the month. However, you have until 11/15/2017 to complete your deposit, so that should give you enough time to complete all your transfers.

  1. I don’t get it, do you have to wait for the funds to post and be available in your account before you can move the funds to another account? It’s easy money but it’s a lot of work than what would you do with 3 discover saving accounts?

  2. Got 2 of them 2 days ago, awaiting First Discover. Plan to call them if nothing by 11/30/17. Again, for those of you who opened 6 accounts….for future knowledge-did you do it all in one name or 3 for self and 3 for spouse?

  3. Just got my thanksgiving gift – received the bonus yesterday for all 3 accounts! I funded them in the first week on Nov. Btw, they did not send out a notification on email so keep checking the account activity.

  4. Has anyone had the bonus post to their account yet? I opened 6 accounts between 10/28 and 10/31 and funded them right away but have seen the bonus post yet.

    • Info says ” bonus to pay by 11/30/17″. WOW, I opened all 3, but did not know you could open 6.Are those all in same name or 3 for you and 3 for spouse. Good going NC.

  5. Hi! 6 opened successfully over the wknd (SO), but same question, and I did read above. Not enogh time for 6 ‘out and back in’ on the 20k. Has anyone confirmed that transfer between the 3 would trigger?

DDG- 1200 here, and I am buying you a beer! THANKS

  6. Called them. First, AAA Discover says not avail to “AAA Savings Discover” customers. Then separately called both others because they said “previous Discover clients” but both others said not excluded unless you were already AAII Discover &/or First Discover customers & I documented who I spoke with, as well as, date & time of call. Therefore, DDG was in fact correct & she prob called them too prior to posting to us. Again thanks DDG

  7. Also – says “Offer not valid for existing or prior Discover savings customers.”
So thinking if we open once account, then we become an existing customer and they may not honor the bonus. Any thoughts?

  8. Maybe a dumb questions – do we need to be members of AAA or AAII? If yes, do we have to pay for their membership?

    • It’s 3 separate bonuses. You need to deposit $20K for each bonus, but you can move the same $20K from one account to the other.

      • I read on the Discover site that the $20K has to be new money, and not funds held by Discover. How did you get around that?

        • Pull it out of one Discover (ACH out externally) to your usual bank account, let it clear and deposit it to the next & repeat. Just link all with trial deposits to your usual back account ahead of time.

          • We don’t have time to pull the money out and depositing again as it’s taking 3 to 4 days to post. Is it still safe to switch between accounts to trigger that bonus? Please advise.

  9. They’ve been a bit of a hassle: every time I open an account, it fraud alerts and I have to call them. Not a big deal (the call is friendly and easy), but FYI.

    • Yup that’s usually an issue, and I hate calling. Even for large transfers sometimes you need to call to unlock account.
