Disney Hacks Facebook Group & Disney Around the World
There is no doubt that the past decade has seen a huge resurgence in Disney’s popularity. It’s not that Disney had ever become unpopular per se, but with many of today’s biggest entertainment brands and parks which are breaking records every year, I think Disney is as much a part of our culture as ever.
To be fair some people hate it and I don’t really blame them, except for one thing. Disney haters generally give zero effort into seeing the point of view of the other side. While I can completely understand why people wouldn’t like Disney, haters often can’t fathom why anyone would like it. And a lot of people like it.
I say that only to say I know why I like it. I was raised about an hour from Disneyland. A family friend’s free ticket connection meant we visited often when I was young. Disneyland was a special place of my childhood, because I bought into the magic. Once you bite in, there is no going back. It just all makes sense.
Since my hundreds of childhood visits to Disneyland, I have since taken my now 18 year old son dozens of times since he was four. And beginning in 2007 I started broadening my Disney universe and theme park universe in general. That year our family made our first Walt Disney World visit and in 2008 we added Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Resort to the list! We weren’t done yet though since Paris was still high on the list. Thankfully it only took a year and in 2009 we checked off that resort.
In the decade since that Paris visit, I have circled the globe while stopping into Disney whenever I can. I’ve now been to Hong Kong Disneyland six times and each of the other resorts at least twice (some more), including Shanghai Disneyland which I visited both in 2016 & 2017. My travels have also brought me to hundreds of other theme/amusement parks and I have even ridden over 1,000 roller coasters.
Disney isn’t a hobby I picked up yesterday nor is the knowledge I have something that can casually be gained in a year or two. I know the history, the nuance and the best ways to be successful at each of these resorts. Do I know everything? Absolutely not. Are there people who know more about each resort than me? Sure! Does anyone have the depth of travel knowledge combined with Disney travel experience? Maybe, but not many. I’m not saying that the expertise of having visited every Disney resort plus hundreds of theme parks globally is the coolest thing in the world, but it’s mine. I’ve put in the “work”. 😂

Which brings me to my point. I’m doing a Disney around the world trip and it has already started! Over the next two months I’ll be visiting Disneyland Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland, Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Paris Resort & Walt Disney World.
You’re probably thinking, “2 months? Why is it taking so long?” Well, because I am not ONLY visiting Disney. I happen to like to see other things in the world, so while Disney will be visited, other countries, sights and smells will be experienced as well. I also will be spending multiple days at multi-park resorts, meaning I am going more for quality and not speed in this pursuit. I want to experience & capture what I can to show what Disney Parks around the world have to deliver in March/April 2019.
Disney Hacks Group
Which brings me to the subject of MtM’s newest Facebook Group. While our main travel hacking group is going strong at almost 8,500 members, we are launching a more intimate group to share all of my (and others’) knowledge about Disney Hacks and tips to save money around the globe. This Disney Hacks group is going to highlight all of the parks and their new projects. We’ll also talk about how to use miles/points and how to save the most money in general when visiting the resorts in Anaheim, Orlando, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong & Shanghai!
If you like Disney, then you will want to be in our group.
My goal is to spread the virus of Disney fandom one post at a time. Plus, we can endlessly discuss which Space Mountain is best, the nuances of the different versions of Tower of Terror, or why it might just make sense to experience Disney parks overseas. Most importantly though I want to help everyone learn.
Maybe our motto should be, “More Disney, Less Money!”
Want to get your Disney Geek on and learn a ton about all of the parks? Here is what you need to do:
Join the MtM Disney Hacks Facebook Group – This one is more intimate, but you’ll want to like Disney if you join. If not, we’ll convince you to like it eventually!
Follow Miles to Memories on Instagram – I will be posting pics from all of the parks plus will have lots of secret fun stuff over on our stories. I have already been at Disneyland and have posted a lot of fun stuff to the Miles to Memories story.
Do you love Disney? Hate it? Share your thoughts in the comments!
