Fairmont President’s Club Ending July 2, 2018

The end date has finally been announced for Fairmont’s President’s Club, July 2, 2018.  This was expected once Accor purchased the hotel chain a few years ago.  A lot of people jumped on the Chase Fairmont cards before they went away earlier this year.  Some may still have some status with Fairmont from the credit card applications.

Status Match to Accor’s Program

For those of you who have status with Fairmont from the credit card sign up or from revenue stays you can check to see how your status will transfer.

Here is a chart from the linked page showing the details:

Conclusion

People valued Fairmont’s upgrade policy and the perks you can get when using the free night vouchers from the credit card sign up in the past etc.  But with the loss of the credit card a few months ago this probably doesn’t affect many these days.

It is still sad to see a more rewarding program get swallowed up by a less rewarding one.  I wouldn’t be shocked to see a Marriott/SPG situation similar to this in the near future.

  1. I will definitely miss the FPC. The Fairmont portfolio is smaller, especially when it comes to resorts, but the ones they do have are some real gems… Maui, Hawaii, Mexico, Bermuda. With FPC Premier certificates and plenty of Fairmont GCs, we did them all in suites! Amazing value for luxe family travel. RIP.

    • From what I have read it had some nice sweet spots. Sad when good things go away….it is happening too often these days.
