Here are the articles for this edition:
MoviePass Removes Unused App Location from iOS with New Update – Engadget
Not surprising after MoviePass’ CEO openly admitted to tracking customers. I guess the backlash was big enough to make them change their ways. You can read my review of MoviePass and remember that their pricing has been reduced by 12% for a limited time.
The Opposite of Travel Hacking – Million Mile Guy
This story makes me sick to my stomach. If you already have a card and features get added, like actually earning points, they should be updated and added to current cardholders as well. This is why I don’t feel bad playing this game for miles and points or with bank bonuses.
US Bank Real-Time Rewards are Good, not Great – The Free-quent Flyer
US Bank recently made some changes to their award booking set up. Most applauded US Bank’s changes as they should. But it may have been a little over hyped. The Free-quent Flyer brings up some good points on why the changes are just good, not great.
Miami’s Platinum House – Art Basel Miami – Double Duty Daddy
This is a few months old but still worth bringing up. There are a lot of perks that come with the premium cards, American Express Platinum in particular, that a lot of people miss out on. This just goes to show that the deeper you dig the more value you find. Who wouldn’t want a complimentary night on the beach filled with drinking, dancing, and food?
Has Google has made it Harder to Find Cheap Hotels? – Skift
Interesting look at how companies display hotel search results. And a reminder to always scroll down a little further because it seems the best prices get buried. The almighty dollar does the talking here, like most places, and if you don’t pay to play you aren’t getting a seat at the table.
