Gyft No Longer Earns 5X With Chase Ink Cards

I wrote this past weekend that it looks like Gyft earning 5X with Chase Ink Cash & Plus cards is no more.  A reader had commented that it seemed to have died over the past few days.  I wanted to do a follow up post in case you missed the last one and to confirm that it is officially dead.  We have had quite a few readers share their data points.  We can confidently say Gyft no longer earns 5X with Chase Ink Cards.

When Did It End?

From the data points it looks like 7/30/19 was the last day that it coded at 5X earning.  Anything purchased on 7/31/19 or later is earning only 1X.

Going forward I am not sure if the AT&T Access More card earns 3X or not on the purchase but that may be an option.  Unless there is a sale it shouldn’t matter because it is likely that the AT&T card would earn 3X on the purchase anyway.

I will be purchasing more gift cards at my local office store or grocery store going forward. Not being able to get Walmart gift cards with a bonus hurts some though.

Final Thoughts

Another great earning avenue dies on us.  It is sad to see and my favorite card, the Chase Ink Cash/Plus gets knocked down another peg.  I had even considered product changing it to the Chase Ink Preferred last year but I still find it to be a very useful card.  Especially with all of those Staples and Office Depot deals.
