Hilton HHonors Diamond Status Match Ending
Last year Hyatt started a frenzy with their at first generous Diamond match which later became much more restrictive. Then Hilton followed suit with a match from other top tier programs to their Diamond tier. Many of you no doubt have this status as a result.
If you were on the fence about requesting a match or simply forgot about it, then you should consider doing it now. Hilton has officially announced via their website that the match program will end 1/11/2016. Thankfully instead of emailing or tweeting them, they have now setup a web page which makes it incredibly easy to request a match.
How to Request a Match
To request your match visit https://hhonormystatus.hiltonapps.com/ and fill out the information. You will be asked to provide your name, email address, HHonors number and what competing program you have status with.
Which Programs Will They Match
As you can see in the screenshot above, they have a dropdown listing which programs they will match to HHonors Diamond status. The programs included on the dropdown are:
- Choice Privileges
- Hyatt Gold Passport
- IHG Rewards Club
- Marriott Rewards
- Starwood Preferred Guest
They do also have a listing for “Other”, so you can list the name and the status you have with different programs that aren’t on the list. It couldn’t hurt, but my guess is there is no guarantee if they will match status from other programs not listed.
What Documentation is Required & How Long
There is a space on the form to upload proof of your elite status. Hilton isn’t very picky with what they want you to send. Here is the language regarding what is acceptable:
Acceptable forms of validation include a screenshot of your current account status or your membership card. We accept jpg files only. Please do NOT send us any personal information (including your phone number, address, social security number, date of birth, user name, passwords, or credit card information).
After submitting all of the information, you will get a confirmation saying it takes up to 5 business days to process. Not a bad turn around time considering how popular this program must be! You will receive an email when your account is upgraded.
Conclusion
If you haven’t yet requested your HHonors Diamond status match then don’t forget that it is ending tomorrow according to Hilton. My wife and I have both matched to Diamond and are looking forward to spending more time in their hotels, especially in cities where Hyatt doesn’t have a strong presence.

My wife is waiting for a decision from Chase on the IHG card to upgrade to IHG Platinum. We are wondering if she should apply tomorrow for the match with Hilton with her current lower IHG status and hope Hilton will let us submit the proof of IHG Platinum later once she gets it upgraded.
