IHG Is Giving 50K In Points To Targeted Members – Check Your Emails

Facebook Group member Gloria shared an interesting email she got from IHG that is giving her 50,000 points, free and clear, as a present.  There are no strings attached and I am assuming this is for the holidays.  She said that she is a Spire Elite.  She also said that her husband is a Platinum, the status that comes with the IHG Premier credit card, and did not.  At this point we are not sure if they are only targeting Spire Elite members or just certain members.

Data points are needed. If you received the email let us know the following in the comments section:

  • Your status level
  • How many points you received
  • How many nights you stayed this year

Hopefully we can figure out who they are targeted.

  1. I am spire and received an email a few weeks ago, and had a choice between free night, 50,000 points or $100 amazon gift card. I choose the free night and started to think it might have been a scam, as the email was not from the same address as other IHG material but from awardhq. Also no one else had posted anything about receiving this. Posted to my account about a week later.

  2. I got a free (unlimited) night from IHG in my email today. Really odd but it doesn’t seem to have a cat level limit.
I’ve been Spire or Platinum for many years, let my Ambassador lapse in September.
I usually have about 80+ nights at IHG a year but this year dropped it down to about 20 paid and 15 reward nights since I’ve had such terrible promo offers. I’ve been in the process of moving loyalty to Marriott over the past year.
I have the old IHG credit card but haven’t covered or obtained the new one.

    • Interesting Dan I have not heard of people getting the free night offer too – thanks for sharing and enjoy! I burned my last 2 uncapped nights at the Willard in DC this year…made me a little sad that it has ended.
