Posts That Caught My Eye
This is a newly published guide that I wrote over at Frequent Miler. With all of the new versions of Serve, it can be difficult to figure out the differences. In this guide I detail each version and show you which one is clearly the best of the bunch. A must read in my (humble) opinion if you are in the market for a Serve card.
Many people don’t know about the sometimes lucrative Amex upgrade and downgrade offers. It seems based on this post that upgrading and downgrading Hilton Amex cards may be a decent way to pickup a chunk of HHonors points every year. It is definitely a strategy worth reading about.
As I laid out in my shopping portal strategy, I generally stick with the same portals that I have grown to know and love. The biggest reason for this is reliability. Still, I am willing to give new players a shot, especially if they offer 5% at Amazon. This seems promising. so I signed up and did a test purchase. I’ll report back with my findings, but based on DoC’s experience, it seems like this one may be a winner.
This is most interesting to readers who buy Vanilla Visas at Rite Aid on the East Coast. Apparently a POS update may be messing things up. It is also a good reminder of why having a manager come over can sometimes be a bad idea even if you aren’t doing anything wrong.
As you may know by now, I love data. This article is fun and provides a number of interesting insights into summer travel. For example, what airline is searched for the most in the U.S.? Did you guess Delta? Seriously it is Delta. Ok here is another one. Where do people from New York, New York travel to? Did you guess Newark? I didn’t. I guess those PATH trains are busy!
Have a great night!
