Posts That Caught My Eye
There is a huge fight going on not for Office Depot’s stores, but their corporate contract business. Amazon may be a larger competitor than either Staples or Office Depot in that space, but for now that isn’t what the FTC thinks. I’m not sure how to feel about this one. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
Details of Hyatt’s new promotion and how maximizing it with 25 stays could result in Diamond status and some points. Is it worth it? Probably not, but I like this type of thinking because it often leads to outsized results.
No more 5X categories on this card. Now I don’t have to be jealous every time a friend pulls one of these out at a restaurant! It is definitely a painful loss for those who have this card though.
An interesting article based on the rumors of a Virgin America sale. I can’t see a scenario where this deal is good for anyone but Delta, but it does make a lot of sense. Personally I feel that the loss of smaller airlines, especially ones that focus on more luxurious offerings, can only be a negative thing for consumers.
eBay has a lot of discounted gift cards today. (Kohl’s, Darden, Toys ‘R Us & More) Additionally, some people have been targeted for increased eBay Bucks and don’t forget about portals. I’m out in the cold since I can’t seem to do anything to get eBay to let me purchase cards while I’m in Europe. Booo.
Have a great evening!
