New Office Depot/Max Amex Offer, Stack With Visa Gift Card Instant Rebate!

There’s a new targeted Amex Offer that can save you up to 20% at Office Depot and OfficeMax and it is times perfectly with the Visa Gift Card deal that started this week.

The Offer

Get 1,000 additional Membership Rewards points (or $10) one-time by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $50+ in one or more eligible transactions in-store at Office Depot OfficeMax or online at by 12/31/2017.

Key Terms

  • Enrollment limited.
  • Valid in-store and online at only.
  • Valid at any participating location in the US and US Territories.
  • Excludes Office Depot and OfficeMax military stores.

How to Maximize

Currently Office Depot and OfficeMax have a Visa Gift Card deal going on until 11/25/2017. You can save $15 instantly when you buy $300 of Visa gift cards. That deal alone can give you 1,995 Ultimate Rewards points and a $1.10 profit if you go with a Chase Visa Ink/Cash card.

But if you have this Amex Offer on a lot of business cards, then depending on your location, you could split transaction on a few cards. If you’re allowed to split it among 7 Amex Cards, you could get a $70 discount on two $200 Visa Gift Cards, besides the $15 instant rebate. Or just add some gum to your purchase, so total goes over $400 and you can use 8 cards for a discount of $80, assuming you have the offer on that many cards.

This offer is showing up on business cards, so check it and add it to your cards right away since enrollment is limited and it could reach capacity quickly. Hopefully you have a location nearby so you can stack it with the Visa Gift Card deal, but the offer is also available online.

  1. I just tried at Office Depot and they said I could not buy any by using credit cards. They said they had moved to cash only on these cards.

    • That would be a store specific decision and could even be cashier error. One person in our facebook group bought some from the store in the morning and the afternoon cashier said cash only. I would try another store or try the same one again with a different cashier.
