Preferred Hotels Offers Free Night for Amex Cardholders
Preferred Hotels and Resorts is a large collection of hotels that include various brands. Many of the hotels available are on the higher end but there are definitely a large range of options. Currently, Preferred Hotels and Amex are offering a promotion for about 600 of the program’s hotels world wide. You will get a free night if you pay for your 2, 3 or 4 night stay with your amex card. You can find a list of participating hotels here. See the individual hotel for the required number of nights.
Reservations must be made by November 31st and stays completed by December 31. I’m unaware of any official partnership with Amex and I’d also be interested to see if there’s a significant amount of overlap between this program and Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts. You can pay with ANY American Express card per the terms. See if you are targeted for the 100K welcome offer.
Conclusion
I don’t know too much about this program, so as always I’d suggest doing a few price comparisons before you book. This seems like a good deal and yet another awesome perk bestowed upon Amex cardholders. Outside their official travel site, Amex sometimes partners with hotels and airlines to offer benefits like this Emirates flight discount offered until the end of the year.

Clarification: They were double the price COMPARED to booking elsewhere. In other words, much more expensive on Preferred Hotels.

Did a quick lookup of Vegas hotels and they were double the price if booked elsewhere. So definitely do a price comparison.
