Citi Improves ThankYou Points Transfer Ratio to JetBlue

Citi is making an improvement to the ThankYou points to JetBlue TrueBlue transfer ratios. The change will kick of this Thursday, September 13th, 2018. Here’s how the changes play out.

  • Citi ThankYou Preferred: 1,000 ThankYou Points = 500 800 TrueBlue points
  • Citi ThankYou Premier: 1,000 ThankYou Points = 800 1,000 TrueBlue points
  • Citi Prestige: 1,000 ThankYou Points = 800 1,000 TrueBlue points

This change comes just two weeks after JetBlue was added as a transfer partner to the Chase Ultimate Rewards program. Chase offers a transfer ratios of 1:1 so now Citi is matching the same rate on two of its credit cards, the ThankYou Premier and Prestige.

Conclusion

We have seen some bonus offers from Citi in the past which made the transfer ratio to JetBlue 1:1. But now this will be permanent. ThankYou Points are probably slightly more valuable than JetBlue points, so it won’t always make sense to go ahead with this transfer even at a 1:1 ratio.

JetBlue is a transfer partner of the three major points programs, Citi ThankYou Points, Chase Ultimate Rewards and Amex Membership Rewards. The first two have a 1:1 ratio and Amex is only offering 250:200.
