US Bank FlexPerks Travel Rewards Card, 32,100 Bonus FlexPoints

Last month we posted an offer for the FlexPerks Travel Rewards Visa Signature card. You could get a 25,000 signup bonus plus more points depending on how many medals USA would get at the Olympics game. Now we know the medal total. You need to apply by 3/10/2018.

The Offer

  • Earn a one–time 25,000 bonus FlexPoints for a new FlexPerks Travel Rewards Visa Signature card with eligible purchases totaling $2,000 or more are made to your account within 90 days from account opening.
  • Plus earn Bonus FlexPoints for every medal Team USA wins at the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018, courtesy of Visa!
    • Gold – 500 points
    • Silver – 250 points
    • Bronze – 100 points

$49 Annual Fee is waived the first year.

Now we know what the medal total is. With 9 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze medals, Team USA will get you an extra 7,100 FlexPoints.

Application Page

Key Terms

  • Apply for a new U.S. Bank FlexPerks® Travel Rewards Visa Card between 2/5/2018 and 3/10/2018 and make a purchase with your new card by 4/6/2018 to earn Bonus Olympic FlexPoints

Card Benefits

  • One FlexPoint per $1 spent on all eligible net purchases
  • Double FlexPoints on the category you spend the most on (at gas stations, grocery stores or airlines) and at most cell phone service providers during each billing cycle
  • Triple FlexPoints on qualifying charitable donations

Conclusion

I predicted on that previous post that the Olympic Bonus would get you about 7,000 extra FlexPoints. You’re getting extra 7,100 instead, for a total bonus of 32,100 FlexPoints. That’s enough for $481 in airfare, hotel stays, car rentals and more. Using FlexPoints got even easier as U.S. Bank introduced Real-Time Rewards. You can now redeem FlexPoints for travel booked anywhere.

Keep in mind that US Bank is not very lenient with approvals. If you have had your eyes on the U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve card, it might be best to go for that card first.

  1. “You can now redeem FlexPoints for travel booked anywhere.”

Not even close. All kinds of restrictions US Bank needs to clarify.
