PSA – Final Days to Use Uber Platinum Credits this Month

I wanted to do a quick PSA post for Uber credits from the Amex Platinum card.  In the past I may have let a month or two go by without using my wife’s Platinum credits.  I don’t want you to make the same mistake as me and this will be a good reminder for me as I will post it at the end of each month.

What Are Uber Platinum Credits

If you are new to the Platinum card world (hopefully you got the 100K targeted offer) then you may not know what I am talking about.  Each month Amex places $15 in credit into your Uber account ($35 in December).  You have to add your Platinum card as a payment method for it to get set up.

Make sure you select Uber credits when you go to pay.  It used to be a simple process and Uber would charge your account for any overage.  Now they make you purchase a gift card for the difference since they, like Amex, are hoping for breakage.  It is the same reason the credit is split out into $15 chunks instead of a $200 lump sum.  They hope you forget to use it!

What If You Don’t Have Travel?  UberEats to the Rescue!

My wife doesn’t travel nearly as much as I do and it is hard for me to use her credit unless she is with me.  That means that there are many months that we have a balance sitting there at the end of the month.  That is when UberEats comes to the rescue!  The Platinum Uber credit also works on UberEats.  And to make it better they haven’t jacked up the redemption process for UberEats (yet). Just make sure the credit is selected and they charge your card for anything over that.

Easy peasy – get some discounted (or free) food with your credit. Don’t let it go to waste!

Current UberEats Discount Codes

Each month I will try to post a current code that can get you discounts on your UberEats order.  As long as there is one available that is.  This month’s codes are:

  • JUNEDEAL gets you $20 off $30 orders. Ends 6/30
  • EATSTREAT20 gets you $20 off $25. Ends 6/30

Final Thoughts

Hopefully this reminder keeps some of you from missing out on $15 in value.  Maybe order lunch for a co-worker etc. if you don’t see anything of interest.  Then they can watch your cat on your next trip as a thanks or something 🤔😉🤣.

  1. Uber Eats is now showing some places as available for pick-up!
It’s nice to have an option where you know the food will be warm when you eat it 🙂
Also, no fee or tip doing it this way.
