Restrictions & Things to Know

  • In order to receive the bonuses, the account(s) must be kept open at least 6 months.
  • The checking account requires a direct deposit within 60 days. You can see reports of what is counting as a direct deposit here.
  • The checking account monthly fee is waived if you have $500 or more in direct deposits or if you keep a minimum daily balance of $1,500.
  • The savings account monthly fee is waived if you have a average daily balance of $300 or if you setup an automatic transfer of $25 per month from your Checking to Savings account.

You can find even more information over at Doctor of Credit with answers to just about every question you can think. Of course it is a good idea to read the fine print before applying for the offer as well.

Analysis

This is one of the better bonuses we have seen in a long time for a Chase checking account. Sometimes they send out higher targeted offers, but this one is available to everyone and is very good.

Both of the savings offers are good too, but just notice that the $150 offer requires less money, but it has to be there for 90 days, while the $175 offer requires more money, but there isn’t a time requirement. The $175 offer looks better to me overall.

Conclusion

While these offers don’t expire until April & May respectively, Chase may stop sending out codes, so I suggest getting a code as soon as possible even if you plan to apply later.

    • Sorry for leaving that part out. No it is not.
” Checking offer is not available to existing Chase checking customers, those with fiduciary accounts, or those whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance.”

      • They specified that direct deposit has to be “an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. ”
There are reports that other form of ACH worked. But I’m worry that it will be all for nothing if it doesn’t.
BTW, I was directed to malicious website too. I have to reboot the computer to get out.

  1. There has been alot of redirects to malicious websites when clicking posts from BoardingArea been affecting phone and computer

  2. just tried to redeem the offer . . . must be done in a branch (not available online)
$300 is worth the effort for me, but for others it might not be . . . just an FYI

  3. You will be taxed on the bonuses so the $450 quickly becomes around $300. Then factor in the effort and the fact that you are tying up your funds for 3 months. By most measurements you aren’t getting anything out of this deal

  4. And be sure to document EVERYTHING. Screen shots, chat messages, etc. Because after fulfilling all the requirements I didn’t receive the bonus and got a message saying that I was ineligible. Eventually, I receive the my bonus, but it took a lot of effort. I opened my account online but perhaps using a branch will make things easier.

  5. The link to the $175 offer is no longer working. If it’s valid until 4/16, any idea why the link is broken? Was going to have my wife sign up for an account. I did mine this past week.
