Amex Offers Improvement
My relationship with Amex Offers goes back many years. For a long time the Amex website was rather rudimentary when it came to Amex Offers and even other information, but it worked fairly well. You could see all of your offers in a list and then use CTRL F (find) to quickly search for the offer you were looking for. This helped to save a bunch of time when you were loading to multiple cards.
Then an “improved” website was rolled out that took away one key feature. You could no longer simply get a huge list of all offers. You had to scroll the offers a few at a time. This was a HUGE pain and it took forever. Thankfully Amex listened and brought back the “View all” option. At first you are displayed a few offers and then you can click to see the entire list.
Now, in addition to that functionality, American Express will allow you to toggle on/off different categories. This is great to help you see exactly which offers are available in each category. Yes, a full list is nice (and I’m glad they kept it), but if I simply want to browse, categorized lists can help keep the information from becoming overwhelming.
The New Interface
The new interface has toggles to let you view “All” offers or select from the categories of: Benefits, Dining, Shopping & Travel. Let’s take a look at the three different options you have viewing.
You can still view all of your available offers the same as before.
You can also select a single category to view the offers only in that category.
Finally you can select more than one category and exclude others.
While this isn’t a huge change, I actually think it is quite an improvement since I believe it will make finding new offers much easier. My cards all have a ton of offers and being able to drill down to the ones I want while still maintaining the old “View All” functionality is great.
What do you think? Is this a useful new feature or will it help you find and load more/better offers? Let us know in the comments!
