California Bans Travel Size Toiletries

Marriott announced recently that it will no longer provide single-use, travel-sized toiletry bottles in hotel rooms. Now the State of California has passed a law to ban all hotels from carrying these one use items.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill Wednesday that bans hotels from supplying such bottles in an effort to reduce the number of plastic containers being thrown away by hotels and guests.

You have some time to adjust to life without travel size toiletries. The bill is set to take effect in 2023. It applies to lodging establishments with more than 50 rooms. Hotels with less than 50 rooms must stop using the tiny bottles by 2024.

Hotels that don’t comply could be subject to monetary fines. On the first violation, a written warning will be given along with a $500 fine for each day the lodging establishment is in violation. Subsequent violations would result in a $2,000 fine.

  1. The Democrates want to get rid of travel sizes but they want to keep the Illeagal Aliens? This people are nuts!
    Cant we all agree?

  2. Wait until they pass a law banning fresh sheets and towels between guests. The residents of the state are already up to their necks in filth on the streets, why not give visitors a taste of it, too?
