Entertainment Book Sale
Disclosure: This post contains personal portal referral links.
I have covered the Entertainment Book before on the site. It doesn’t always have the best deals, but I think it can be a good tool to save money at home in your local market and also when traveling on vacation. The retail price of Entertainment Books is about $35, but they are always running some sort of promotion. Unfortunately early in the year promotions are more sparse since the coupons don’t expire until December 31.
Fortunately I found a deal today that I think may be worth it for some of you if you were holding out to purchase a book. Through February 7, 2015 you can save 50% off of the price of a book with the code FLASH. I believe all books cost $35 (correct me if I’m wrong) so this would bring the price down to $17.50. That is good, but not that great.
Save Even More
Thankfully you can do even better by going through a portal. Several portals have decent payouts at Entertainment.com including Ebates at 17.5%, but Mr. Rebates is offering the best rate at 20% cashback. The good news is the FLASH code shows up on the portal sites, so you shouldn’t have to worry about the discounts stacking. If you stack the discounts your final cost should look like this.
- Total Cost after Code: $17.50
- 20% Cashback: -$3.50
- Total Cost: $14
- Discount: 60%
Now $14 isn’t the cheapest these books will go. As the year goes on and the expiration date gets closer, we will see bigger discounts. With that said, it is only the beginning of February and thus you will have almost 11 months to use the coupons, plus more importantly you can use the coupons now instead of waiting for a better sale. I am personally picking up one of the books since we probably find about $100 worth of savings per book each year so it makes sense in the long term.
