Posts That Caught My Eye
This is getting worse and worse every time I travel. Remember that your bank will most likely give you the best exchange rate. Dynamic Currency Conversion is designed to take your money without you even knowing. Isn’t it all so convenient? No! It is disheartening to see this practice spreading to ATM’s.
An interesting collection of data that Credit Karma has put together using their member’s information. (Remember nothing is “free”!) As you might have guessed most of these places are economically depressed or located in the middle of nowhere, but hey you can get a house for under $100K. That should count for something!
American Express has launched a couple of new versions of Serve including a Green version that seems to charge a $5 monthly fee for what now costs only $1. Here is a nice roundup of all six versions of the Serve cards (old and new) along with fees and limits. It looks like you may still be able to get a Serve card with the old $1 (waivable) fee structure!
Don’t Do This
Spirit is sending out advertisements for personal loan provider Prosper Funding. With rates from 6-36%, you are sure to get a great deal. Oh and you earn 1 Spirit mile for every dollar borrowed. I know almost all of my readers are debt free and thus wouldn’t do this, but I find it interesting that Spirit thinks they can make money this way. I guess it says a lot about their average customer. Personal loans are generally very expensive and don’t look too good on your credit either.

- Today is Friday, so you can get 2 for 1 tickets with your Visa Signature card on Fandango. Here is a direct link to the offer.
Have a great evening!
