Wyndham Rewards Will Remove All-Inclusive Properties

Wyndham Rewards Will Remove All-Inclusive Properties From Its Program

Earlier this year Wyndham made changes to its rewards program. They went from a flat 15,000 points per night on all properties, to three separate tiers. While they touted over a thousand properties available at 7,500 points per night, most desirable properties jumped to 30,000 per night.

Now there’s even more bad news for Wyndham Rewards members. Starting June 1, 2019, Viva Wyndham all-inclusive resorts will no longer be participating in the Wyndham Rewards program. After the changes earlier this year, they all jumped to 30,000 points per night, and soon they’ll be gone completely. The affected properties are:

  • Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach
  • Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace
  • Viva Wyndham Tangerine
  • Viva Wyndham V Samaná
  • Viva Wyndham V Heavens
  • Viva Wyndham Maya
  • Viva Wyndham Azteca
  • Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach

So after June 1st, you won’t be able to redeem or earn points on stays at any of these properties. When you try to book any of these properties, you’ll already see the warning in there “This resort will no longer participate in Wyndham Rewards as of June 1, 2019.”

But there’s at least a bit of good news for those who have Wyndham Rewards points. TPG confirms that any stay booked before June 1st will be honored, whether it’s paid with cash or points. You’ll also earn points on those stays, but will need to contact Wyndham’s member services to have the points added to their account.

Conclusion

Yet another huge devaluation of Wyndham Rewards and so soon after they already doubled the price on these properties. Hopefully those that have large amounts of Wyndham points will be able to figure out their plans and book quickly.  Another option is turning your Wyndham Rewards into Caesar’s reward credits.
