Free American Airlines Platinum Status Offer & Challenge
American Airlines sent an email to my wife with a targeted offer to earn free Platinum Pro status just for registering by 6/25/19. The status is good until 9/25/19 and there is a challenge attached to keep it until 1/31/21.
I received a similar offer a few months ago for Gold status. I turned that Gold status with American into Silver status with Delta.
Register for this exclusive offer to enjoy free American Airlines AAdvantage® Platinum Pro status through September 25, 2019. You must register by June 25, 2019.
Benefits of AAdvantage® Platinum Pro status include:
- Complimentary upgrades on flights within North America (confirmed +as early as 72 hours before departure)
- 9 award miles/U.S. dollar (80% bonus)
- Complimentary same-day confirmed flight change
- 2 free checked bags
- Complimentary access to Main Cabin Extra and Preferred seats
- oneworld® Sapphire℠ status on partner airlines
There is also a status challenge with this offer. Keep your status through January 31, 2021, by earning:
- $2,400 Elite Qualifying Dollars (EQDs) and
- 20,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs)
If you did receive this offer for Platinum status you should definitely get on it before it expires on 6/25. The bad thing about American Airlines status is it doesn’t work on award tickets unless you have Executive Platinum. That doesn’t work well for us since American doesn’t have great coverage out of Detroit.
I will have her take it for sure so that we could at least avoid close in booking fees. I will also status match to Delta since that status would be a lot more useful for us and our travels.
